smartseal

A revolutionary new endodontic material, smartseal is a two part system - smartpoint and smartpaste – that utilises hydrophilic polymer plastic.

smartpoint looks like any other point but is unique in that it swells laterally to fit the root canal when water is absorbed from the tooth tissue. Being a ‘smart’ material it does not swell in any other dimension and has a controlled hoop strength preventing root fracture. It is flexible so fits into highly curved canals. It is radiopaque and easy to remove due to its unique properties.

The points are individually blister packaged and are available in 4% and 6% taper sizes.

smartpaste, the second part of the system, contains an active polymer that also swells to fill any voids or cavities in the root canal. The amount of swelling can be controlled by the quantity of active polymer used.
